Solar Pool and Spa Heating
|

 |
Imagine how much added enjoyment your pool would provide
if it was warm enough to swim in for more days every year. Most people on
the Gold Coast only use their pools from mid-November to mid-March, and even
then the pool is sometimes too cold for comfort. A properly designed solar pool heating
system can
increase this by a minimum of 4 months, for example, September to April.
A properly sized and designed solar pool heating system
really does work! Solar pool heating is not meant to provide 12 months of pool usage -
if you want to use your pool all year or if you have specific temperature
requirements you should be looking at our heat pumps.
Solar
pool heating is designed to provide at
least four additional months of pool usage and to provide more constant
temperatures in the warmer months. For most people this means that their
pool usage is at least doubled. For other people it means that they are
now swimming for 4 months of the year where previously their pool was too cold
to swim in at all!

Zane Solar Pool
Heating
A Great Combination!
|
|
Zane Solar Pool Heating:
-
Invented the strip absorber system in 1974. This is the
basis of most solar pool heating systems installed today.
-
Won an Australian Design Award.
-
Nominated for a Prince Phillip Award.
-
Committed to ongoing Research and Development. Zane is still
the industry leader.
-
Owned by Waterco, a publicly listed Australian
company which is the largest supplier to the Australian pool and spa industry. The Zane warranty is with Waterco, so you know that your investment is
protected.
Central Solar Systems:
-
Specialises in water heating - domestic and commercial hot
water, and pool and spa heating. Solar, heat pump, electric
element, gas.
-
Has been installing and servicing solar pool heating systems
since 1980, with thousands of happy customers.
-
Gold Coast owned. Operates from a showroom in Bundall
(previously Mermaid Beach).
-
Has highly qualified and experienced engineering and
technical staff.
A Zane Solar Pool Heating Solution:
-
Computer modelled for each individual situation. We leave
nothing to chance.
-
Designed with your desired pool usage and budget in mind.
-
Designed to blend in with your roof and environment wherever
possible.
-
Incorporates only high quality components - Zane’s unique
super tough thin walled TPR absorber, commercial grade manifold systems, a
choice of high tech controllers, a choice of industrial grade silicon or
Solarclips to fasten the absorber, stainless steel ties, safety switches, etc.
More Efficient
-
Zane’s unique super tough thin walled absorber provides for faster
water heating - the sun doesn’t have to be as hot to provide the same amount
of heating as other systems. For example, a 40 square metre Zane system could
provide the same heating as a 46 square metre system which uses a thick walled
absorber.
-
We don’t compromise on technical requirements to reduce
costs. This means that absorber run lengths and water flow rates are optimised
to provide the best heating result for each unique situation. Poor hydraulic
design and/or installation can result in systems operating to less than half
their capacity.
Lasts Longer
-
Zane’s super tough TPR absorber is formulated to withstand
the elements for decades and is not susceptible to the internal breakdown
often suffered by EPDM, synthetic rubber and similar thick walled absorber.
-
Whilst Zane does supply moulded manifolds, all manifolds
installed by Central Solar Systems are hand made and of commercial grade. This
provides the longest lasting, leak free finish in our relatively hot climate. This includes locking every individual water tube in place.
-
We use industrial grade silicon or special Solarclips to
hold the absorber to the roof.
We Don't Use Coloured Absorber!
-
A matt black surface is the
best absorber of heat. All other colours reflect a
proportion of the sun’s energy. This means that it is not
possible for colours to absorb as much heat as a matt black
surface. The real difference in heating performance
between black and colours is determined by the amount of
reflection for each colour, and is far greater than that claimed
by many suppliers of coloured absorber. For example, under
controlled testing conditions it has been shown that black
absorber raised the temperature of water by 6 degrees.
Under identical conditions, green absorber raised the water
temperature by 2.4 degrees, terracotta raised the water
temperature by 2 degrees, and blue raised the water temperature
by 4 degrees. Black absorber will provide significantly
more heating capacity than coloured absorber when you really
need the best heating capacity - during the spring and autumn
months when the solar radiation is lower.
-
Zane black TPR absorber contains a substance called carbon
black. Carbon black improves the life expectancy of solar
absorber by offering better protection against oxidation and
ultra-violet radiation. Coloured absorbers don’t contain
carbon black.
